Steve Dash started his career in 1980 as an actor in The Jazz Singer, then branched into stunt work with such films as Ghostbusters, Night Shift, and F/X. In 1982, Steve stuffed his head into a dirty cloth bag with eye holes and trudged his way up to Camp Crystal Lake to make horror history as Jason Voorhees in the first sequel to the landmark Friday the 13th franchise! Donning a down-home country wardrobe like a last-minute Halloween costume, Jason dashed through the woods of Camp Crystal Lake with his pitch fork, machete, and trusty hammer, shortening the summer’s of the fledgling camp counselors. He may not have swung a pick like ‘ole Harry Warden, but Steve’s menacing physical performance as the sack-faced summer camp slasher would eventually earn him the respect of horror fans everywhere and effectively launch the character of “Jason” to celebrity status!
